My Unstolen Heart

I found this line “unstolen heart” that I liked. It’s meant to come from a self-empowering thing that says that you have to love yourself first before you love others. Then I made this metaphor for you being the thief I’m looking for… Ohhh metaphor, cool. Its cheesy enough by gum it just might work!I then wanted the story to come full circle and show how things are now. Repeat the chorus a bunch of times with a cool arrangement and voila!

“My Unstolen Heart”- Timothy Pratt 2015©
PC:
My Unstolen heart
Still belongs to me
And you’re still spoken for
My Unstolen heart
Always looks out for me
Its unstoppable and still wants more

CH:
But
Its nothing like it seems
You could be the thief
You could be the thief
That I’m looking for

Verse 1:
I used to think
That I’d never get got
So I Ran fast slaying hearts
Been burned before
Felt the love just stop
Forgotten vows faking parts

Got caught crying at the wrong times
Searching for the right rhymes
CH:
But
It’s nothing like it seems
You could be the thief
You could be the thief
That I’m looking for

Verse 2:
So we’ve come a long way
And took our time
Rushed into everything too soon
Moved in with you in May
When the stars aligned
Found my forever home by June

Bridge:
10 years later
So far so good
Stayed true to you
Stayed pretty true to myself too
PC:
My Unstolen heart
Still belongs to me
And you’re still spoken for

My Unstolen heart
Always looks out for me
Its unstoppable and still wants more
CH:
But
Its nothing like it seems
You could be the thief
That I’m looking for
But
It’s nothing like it seems
You could be the thief
That I’m looking for
