Everybody's got something

Confession time. I like browsing reddit.com too much. My wife thinks that I should marry that site, I'm so in love with it. Maybe if the draconian marriage laws change, sigh...

Anyway, there was a post that caught in my mind about a young person in the doctors office waiting room talking about how bad their medical condition was. The young person was speaking to an older woman who was probably in much worse shape, but the older woman was just patiently listening to the young person babble on. When there was a lull in the conversation, the old woman reflected and said, "that must be hard dear, but you know everybody's got something." That statement helped the younger person better frame the situation that she was in and made her realize that her problems, while real, could be a lot worse. Empathy learned.

In my opinion theres nothing wrong with sharing troubles with others, at the same time I try to be sensitive to others who may have other things that are way worse. "Try to be sensitive" being the aspirational operative word.

Here's new song that's been rattling around. I'm moving forward on my songwriting process tracking and mixing using Logic Pro X and tried mastering in Landr.com. Let me know what you think.

Everybody's got something

Everybody's got something- Timothy Pratt (c) 2015

I complain about my aches and pains
cry about how
s’never any time for what I want somehow
you just close your eyes shake your head
hand wave
many others have it way worse
heard you say
CH
Everyone’s got something going
Everyone’s got something wrong
Everybody wants something else
Nobody’s gonna have it all
But Everybody’s got something
Vs2
miserable man shaking a can
Wishing me happy day
Looking for some change or a café ole
didn't closed my eyes or shook my head
I just gave
theres others have it way worse
heard you say
Ch
Everyone’s got something going
Everyone’s got something wrong
Everybody wants something else
Nobody’s gonna have it all
